Recently, President Bush stood on the border in Yuma, Arizona, and absurdly declared "mission accomplished" in securing our border against the human tsunami of illegals continuing to pour in to our country day and night – as uncontrolled migrant labor, drug and gun runners, sex-slavers, and potential terrorists.

He then stated his belief that now he will be able to sign a bill of "comprehensive immigration reform" – in other words, AMNESTY – by the end of the year, which would include a so-called "guest-worker" program, along with a path to BUY legalized citizenship for millions of illegal aliens and the 623,292 fugitive illegal aliens in the U.S. who have been LOST by Homeland Security.

Sen. Harry Reid''s office reports they are receiving more phone calls from pro-open border, pro-illegal advocates who support amnesty and citizenship “forgiveness” legislation. They are getting calls from people who do not even speak English very well. Obviously, our opposition is very well mobilized and they know that making these phone calls work, even if those calling are NOT here lawfully, NOT U.S. citizens, not U.S. voters. Reid''s office is nonetheless counting these calls and where they come from.

I recommended that we start making more phone calls into his office as well as all Democrats, expressing our disdain and ABSOLUTE REJECTION of amnesty and special citizenship provisions for illegal aliens, and to emphasize the need for greater border security.

It is time to rally the troops from coast to coast to call Harry Reid''s office and tell him we do not want amnesty for illegal aliens. The feds need to uphold and enforce our immigration laws. Look at history and see that in 1986 amnesty did not work and it will not work now... This country cannot afford feckless and dangerous political pandering at the cost of our national sovereignty and security.

According to Ted Kennedy:
You are a Bigot if you believe that the 12-20 million illegal aliens who violated United States law by sneaking across our border should be prosecuted and/or deported, and NOT be rewarded with a special path to American citizenship!

The security of the U.S. border is completely compromised, and name calling does not lead to solutions. Simcox, who promotes the rule of law and legal immigration, maintained his composure and said, “I reached many of the students by having a reasoned approach and talking about solutions.”

STOP Hatred and Bigotry
Chris Simcox is already under media attack at Michigan State University by Chris Matus, an MSU news columnist, in the lead-up to an April scheduled campus debate there.
In an ill-reasoned, error-filled and propagandistic article duplicitously entitled: “It Goes Both Ways” (Meaning: “It Can Only Go Our Way”) Matus draws the conclusion of all good bigots by announcing, “When their language, actions and friends are taken into consideration, the flowery mission statement of the Minuteman members is exposed as just that — a cheap facade.”

Matus attempts to create Minuteman guilt with a non-existent association to “bad guys and bad behavior” — defaming the outstanding efforts of World War II decorated veterans and patriot Americans simply want the U.S. government to do its job. His “article” is irresponsible, contemptible, and a classic example of the left’s double standard/big lie strategy to dominate public policy by any means necessary.

No, bigotry and prejudice, and an absence of any journalistic honesty or intellectual integrity, are what are being exposed in the attacks of those like Matus, who will not tolerate free and fair debate on the issues before our great nation.

MSU’s Young Americans for Freedom chapter sponsoring the event is being maligned by Matus for not having a “respectful dialogue” while he states “the role of a University as a forum of debate is a wonderful thing.” He then seeks to shut down the dialogue completely when Matus suggests that “many in the MSU community wonder if the group should be allowed a voice at all.”
Matus goes on to say, “If the message of YAF and Simcox disgusts you … show up … Simcox deserves to hear that hate and discrimination are not welcome at MSU.” Matus suggests that the students violate the free speech rights of Minutemen and Chris Simcox again as they did in New York because as Matus says, “that''s the beauty of free speech — it goes both ways”.
Matus must have missed the class where they taught that a debate is not a monologue, and free speech is not just one politically-correct point of view—but these instead require a civilized exchange of ideas and a discussion of possible solutions. MCDC urges all to come to this and other debates as many of the students can be reached by having a reasoned approach and talking about solutions.

The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps is backing its big talk with a big fence.

The volunteer border watch organization has financed and coordinated the construction of a 0.9-mile-long, 13-foot-high steel mesh fence east of Naco. So far, about a quarter mile is finished, with poles and holes marking the progress on the rest of the section.

Although the barrier covers only a tiny section of the 362 miles of international border in Arizona and even less of the nearly 2,000 miles of U.S.-Mexico border, the Minuteman organization insists the impact on illegal immigration will be more than just symbolic.

To area residents like Leonel Urcadez, owner of the Gay 90s bar in Naco, the fence being built on private land in an area where few people travel other than Border Patrol agents, is a harmless boondoggle that won''t do anything to stop illegal border crossers.

"What can it possibly do?" said Urcadez. "They''ll just go around it."

Richard Hodges, owner of the 372-acre cattle ranch where the fence is being built, agrees the fence won''t do much to protect the nation.

But it is "going to do an awful lot for me personally, as far as protecting my cows, protecting me and my family," he said. "What it has done is brought so much attention, an awful lot of attention."

The effect will be twofold, said Al Garza, Minuteman Civil Defense Corps national executive director. First, it will force traffic to the east and west and give the Border Patrol an area it won''t have to patrol.

Secondly, it will "let the government know that it''s not as difficult to secure the borders as they lead us to believe," Garza said.

Attention all Arizona Minuteman Civil Defense Corps volunteers. Mark your calendars. A few details have yet to be nailed down but I wanted to give you a heads up on an event we are planning. We have entitled this event "Operation Christmas Stocking" (thanks Pineapple 6) a caravan of Arizona MCDC volunteers to bring Christmas Joy to the men and women of the U.S. National Guard who are standing watch over our U.S. border with Mexico.

Here''s the plan. There are 156 National Guard volunteers at the border near Sasabe, Arizona. The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps will organize a caravan to Sasabe, AZ on Saturday, December 23. We will be delivering Christmas care packages to the troops standing watch. At this time, volunteers from the Michigan National Guard, Tennessee National Guard and North Carolina National Guard are standing watch -156 in all so we need to collect 156 care packages.

Those care packages should include pre-packaged goodies such as cookies, nuts, candy, etc., you know, Christmas goodies. A master sergeant that I have been working with also suggests personal items such as Chap stick, sun block, long underwear, sunglasses, and I guess you could include any other personal items you think may be of benefit to our troops on the border.

If you wish to donate a care package, but cannot join the caravan than please mail your care package to the Scottsdale headquarters address at 6501 Greenway Parkway, Suite 103 - 640 Scottsdale, AZ 85254.

If you wish to join the caravan to Sasabe, plan on meeting at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 23rd at the parking lot across from the Chevron Station at the intersection of Highway 86 and 286, the road to Sasabe.
We will then caravan down to Sasabe and take our care packages out to the field to meet National Guard volunteers on post.

Again, plan on meeting in the large parking lot, across from the Chevron Station at the junction of Highway 86 and 286 the road to Sasabe at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning, December 23. You may want to arrive a little early, as we will team up and caravan down to Sasabe which is approximately 45 minutes from the Highway 286 Highway 86 junction. We are scheduled to meet our National Guard tour director at 12 noon in Sasabe on Saturday December the 23rd.

To recap. We need 156 care packages. If you wish to make a care package but cannot attend the border caravan then mail your care package to the Scottsdale headquarters and RSVP to my email address so I can keep count of the packages and keep count of those who will deliver the packages in person.

VIRGINIA MINUTEMEN BATTLING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION STATEWIDE

Minutemen to Meet in Culpeper, Virginia

HERNDON, VA (December 4, 2006)—The Virginia Chapter of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (“MCDC”) is holding the first in a series of town hall-style meetings in Culpeper, VA on Thursday, December 7th at 7:00 PM.

The meeting will be held in the VFW Post 2524 at 12210 Sperryville Pike and is open to the public. Picture identification will be required to be shown upon entry.

Media is invited to attend.

Culpeper has a rich Minuteman history going back to the Revolutionary War when in response to the rising threat of a war with Great Britain the largest battalion of Minutemen was formed in Culpeper to take measures for defense of the colony.

This first in a series of meetings throughout Virginia will focus on providing information to citizens and elected officials in the local municipalities on what they can do to alleviate the impact of illegal aliens within their municipality. In January, similar meetings will be held in Leesburg, Manassas, and Woodbridge, with additional meetings being scheduled at this time.

The Minutemen began the nation’s largest neighborhood watch program along both the northern and southern United States borders to bring attention to this nation’s wide-open borders and the alarming national security threat this grave situation poses. MCDC is also building high-tech security fencing along the southern border with Mexico on private land using private donations.

The Virginia Chapter of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps has focused its highly successful efforts on interior enforcement of the rule of law, photographing day labor sites and informing authorities of day labor centers that facilitate illegal hiring practices using public funding. The Virginia Chapter was founded in Herndon where their efforts helped to unseat the Mayor and all City Council members in last year’s city elections who supported the public funding of these illegal day labor centers.

Jail inmates to clean up desert mess
Sheriff: It helps planet, fights illegal immigration

It''s an unsightly mess left behind at temporary campsites set up by illegal immigrants trekking through Maricopa County''s desert areas.

And starting today, about 200 jail inmates will be cleaning it up.

Dubbed "Operation I.C.U.," because the desert requires "intensive care," Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said the desert trash pickup is a new phase in his fight against illegal immigration and an effort to improve the environment at the same time. The "Illegal Alien Campsite Clean Up" will occur monthly.

"These people are coming here illegally. They''re breaking the law, and they''re destroying our desert," Arpaio said. "It''s disgusting."

Deputies have been coming across campsites and snapping photos of the filth since Arpaio''s anti-human-smuggling unit began looking for and arresting illegal immigrants in March. So far, 351 illegal immigrants have been jailed, and Arpaio said their mess needs to be cleaned up.

Deputy Chief Brian Sands estimates there are about 15 large illegal campsites in the western part of the county. They are used as "drop zones" and temporary staging areas for illegal immigrants. The immigrants will stay there anywhere from a couple of hours to several days, until they can be picked up and transported to their destinations. They usually leave in a hurry, dumping blankets and other trash. In some areas, trash piles are knee deep.

"There''s all these little campsites over the years that have turned into this big mess," Sands said.

Illegal dumping not only ruins views but threatens the health of people who live or play there; over time, it pollutes the ground and groundwater.

Offenders who dump trash rarely are caught, and cleanups are costly.

Arpaio said his cleanup will cost taxpayers almost nothing. Trash bags and dump trucks have been donated, and inmate labor is free. Of the 200 convicted inmates who will take part today, 10 are foreign nationals from Mexico, Arpaio said. The inmates will get an extra bologna sandwich for their work.

Legislators seek hearing for Border Patrol agents

Members of Congress who support El Paso Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean on Friday delivered a letter asking for a congressional hearing into the agents'' case to U.S. Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, said officials with U.S. Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas.

The letter states that the legislators believe that such a hearing would help "overturn these convictions" and would shed light on "several discrepancies in the cases."

Compean and Ramos were convicted of violating the civil rights of a drug smuggler they shot in the buttocks as he was fleeing across the river to Mexico in February 2005 near Fabens. They were found guilty of tampering with evidence for not reporting the shooting to their superiors and because Compean picked up shell casings. They were sentenced to more than 10 years in prison and have filed appeals.

Last summer, Sensenbrenner publicly agreed to a congressional hearing, but as of Friday, about two weeks before the legislative session ends, he had not scheduled it.
