You are missing out, it you haven’t been to the Arizona border watch this month. Just ask the over 200 volunteers we have had in camp so far.

Week 3 highlights:

o Our Arizona totals are as follows:

o 435 Illegal Allien sightings (thru 10/21/07)

o 124 Illegal Alien apprehensions by Border Patrol (thru 10/21/07)

o I had the honor of being the cook for our 3rd “Volunteer appreciation cookout” this month. We have cooked over 175 hamburgers and 50 hotdogs this month for the volunteers. These have been a great time for volunteers to fellowship, and tell stories from the front lines.

o Our Eye in the Sky program has really taken off. Roger Plank, our Eye in the Sky coordinator, has developed 3 Eye in the Sky units. These units were out in use this past week, and when used together we can almost form our own virtual fence. The units, which are now truck mounted, telescope a thermal camera up to 30’ in the air. These cameras have been able to see approaching IA groups several hundred yards out, and let the line posts know before the IA’s get there. Border patrol has also been impressed by our capability, and had their agents watch the camera monitor, while sending other agents out to intersect the approaching IA’s. Just the other night Eye in the Sky spotted a group of 36 IA’s, and Border Patrol was quick to respond with agents and a helicopter.

o Our Search & Rescue teams have been busy providing line support and going on deep insert mountain missions. We just finished a mission deep in the Sierrita Mountains, where we set up to watch several saddles notorious for drug mules and Illegal Alien smuggling. And as we speak we are preparing for one of our most dangerous missions we have undertaken. We will be inserting teams deep into the mountain for a 60 hour mission.

These will be our temporary headquarters below:

So if you have NOT been down for the October Muster, we are patiently awaiting your arrival. We can always use extra volunteers. For every extra volunteer, that is one more trail that we can watch. Remember, we have everything you need in camp. We have state of the art night vision and thermal equipment for the volunteers to use, so what is stopping you from coming?

See you on the border,
