Arizona January Border Muster -JANUARY 11-13 2008

Arizona January Border Muster

JANUARY 11-13 2008

MCDC is requesting your presence January 11-13 at the King’s Anvil Ranch, Three Points, to stand the lines once again for operation 1st  2008 MINUTEMAN MUSTER. The National Guard is all but gone in most areas, and the Border Patrol again finds itself alone in the battle against Illegal Immigration. This country needs you to be another line of defense.

This month’s schedule is as follows: (you must sign in one hour prior to shift time)

Friday Jan. 11th 5:00 pm to 1:00 am
Saturday Jan. 12th 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Saturday Jan. 12th 11:00 am to 2:00pm “Amnesty Trail Layup” Tour
Saturday Jan. 12th 5:00 pm to 1:00 am

Please note that for January’s operation, volunteers must be a current registered Minuteman, as field registration and vetting will not be available. If you want to come and are NOT registered, please visit our website at www.minutemanhq.com and register. Temporary ID cards issued for the October muster may be used for January as well. You must bring your ID card and wear it at all times.

If you are coming to Arizona please obtain your AZ State Land permit. They expire one year from the month of purchase. A Hunting and Fishing license does NOT grant you access to state land unless you are in the act of hunting or fishing.
If you need to purchase or renew your state land permit, please go to this link and print the application and mail it ins ASAP, as it usually takes 2 weeks to process:

The usual deluxe accommodations are available. We have a sleeping area with cots available for volunteers, solar showers, porta-potties, and a small kitchen. There are also several other areas to stay in the area, please see lodging below. Please contact the motels for current rates, as they change throughout the fall.

DIRECTIONS to King’s Anvil Ranch, Altar Valley HQ:
Take Rt 86 (Ajo Hwy) West from Tucson to Three Points (Robles Junction). From there, take RT 286 South to mile marker 38. Go past that mile marker about 300 yards and make a right hand turn onto a dirt road. This is the entrance to the King’s Anvil Ranch. Go approximately 1/2 mile to the main camping area. Do not park in the main house area; park in the open field that has been designated for parking. Please keep your speed down, as this is a private road.

Each volunteer is asked to come prepared to post with a cell phone, cooler with water/food, lawn chair, binoculars, dressed appropriately for the terrain and weather, and night vision if you have it. Please get an earpiece for your radio if you can. Come prepared to the shift briefing 1 hour prior to being posted. For example, if your shift starts at 5:00 pm, please be on site at 4:00 p.m.

If you would like to volunteer for a communications shift during your stay, please contact Steve Lane at daysleepr@cox.net

If you would like to volunteer for Admin, please contact Marcia Ridgely at mr_r@cdemail.com

If you wish to be a Line Leader, please contact Bob Price at bprice777@comcast.net
