The Pima County Board of Supervisors today should approve Sheriff Clarence Dupnik's plan to deputize the Border Patrol agent working with the border crimes unit.
The proposed intergovernmental agreement between Dupnik's department and the Border Patrol has local human rights advocates crying "foul!" and the chicken-littles worried about a migrant "invasion" saying "its about time."
We believe it's a good time for both sides to step back, take a breath, and pause a moment for a reality check.
