TROOPS AT AIRPORTS, TROOPS AT PORTS, BUT NO TROOPS ON THE BORDER?

CONTACT YOUR CONGRESSIONAL REP TO SUPPORT H.R. 277 - A BILL TO ASSIGN TROOPS TO THE BORDERS

Rep. Virgil Goode has reintroduced a bill (H.R.277) that

would authorize the Secretary of Defense to assign members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps to assist the Department of Homeland Security in the performance of border protection functions.

We need your help to get additional cosponsors for this

critically important legislation. It is foolhardy, if not insane, to consider going to war while our borders are left wide open. Please send email and letters to your representative today. Thank you!

Throughout the world, American soldiers have rooted out terrorism, maintained the peace and controlled disputed borders.

In Haiti, Bosnia and the Middle East, American peace- keepers have demonstrated, not just their courage, but their expertise in handling difficult situations.

Wherever there is a problem, American soldiers can be relied upon to get the job done — except here, on America’s own borders. Why is that?

Every year, our border crisis worsens. First, it was drugs. Then disease. Then, it was illegal aliens, crossing by the hundreds and then by the millions. And now, terrorists are crossing our borders, determined to rain more death and destruction down upon us.

If there was ever a time for the United States to put troops on the border, this is it!

We are in a state of war. And we are fighting enemies who have brought the battle to our shores.

That is why we are happy to report that we are working closely with Congressman Virgil Goode (I-VA) who has introduced H.R. 277, a bill that would authorize the Secretary of Defense to assign members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps to assist the Department of Homeland Security in the performance of border protection functions.

We are very grateful to Rep. Goode for introducing this critically important legislation and promised him we would do everything within our power to help him get his bill passed as quickly as possible--before another disaster strikes our nation. The first and most important thing we can do to help is to get cosponsors for his new legislation.

We had hoped that the shock of September 11th would arouse even the most apathetic of our elected officials, but we were wrong. Although we know that our undefended borders remain an open invitation to terrorists, illegal aliens and drug smugglers, many Congressmen are acting as if we have no national security problems.

Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. Despite the fact that we now have a new Cabinet-level Department of Homeland Security and the President has used his authority to put National Guard troops at America’s airports, our borders are still wide open.

Amazingly, our government continues to permit some organizations to put out food, medicine and clothing along the routes illegal aliens use to sneak into our country. They continue to allow this in the aftermath of 9/11 and with the knowledge that, since 9/11, Arabs, hiding among the illegal aliens, have been captured by the Border Patrol.

Every national poll conducted reveals overwhelming support for putting troops on the border, even before 9/11. Of all the things our government could do to secure our nation, putting troops at our borders would be one of the least costly, most effective and cause the

least interruption of American’s daily lives.

Instead, our government federalized all the airport security personnel and gave them specific instructions not to look for suspicious looking characters, but to harass every airline passenger equally. And that is why

they waste their time forcing poor old ladies with arthritic fingers to remove their shoes to search for explosives!

They are doing all this nonsense while illegal aliens are crossing our borders at the same rate as before 9/11. If 5- to10,000 illegal aliens can walk across our borders in a single day, how difficult do you think it is for terrorists to get across?

For too many years, Congress has been brainwashed by the well-funded special interest groups who have convinced them that the American people want open borders and mass immigration. Many continue to

believe they will be thrown out of office if they support programs to control our borders and slow down immigration.

One way to convince them to do the right thing is to show them that the American people are behind them. They will get that message clearly when they start to receive thousands of email letters urging them to sign on to the Goode bill to put troops on the border.

So far, our elected officials have continued to ignore the polls and editorials urging the Congress to put troops on the border. But they would be foolish to ignore thousands of emails landing on their desk daily demanding troops on the border NOW!

That can happen if you send an email today.

Our immigration problems, our drug problems and the threat of terrorists crossing our unguarded borders could all be solved overnight if our troops were allowed to assist the Border Patrol in securing our border from these threats.

The solution is at hand. All we have to do is convince the Congress to pass the Goode amendment without delay. And the best way we know to get bills through the committee process and on to the House and Senate floors for a vote is by getting as many cosponsors as possible.

You need to understand that there are thousands of bills all vying for the attention of the Congress. The ones that get to the top of the pile are the ones that have the most support. The most visible indication of support are the number of Congressmen and Senators who have actually added their names to a bill as cosponsors.

Until we have secured our borders against the flow of drugs, disease, illegal migration and terrorism, America will continue face an uncertain future and you and your loved ones will remain vulnerable to multiple threats.

So please send your email today. And if you want to do even more, consider joining Border Control and help us to establish sensible and fair immigration policies while we regain control of our borders.

Thank You!

THE ILLEGAL-ALIEN CRIME WAVE

The following article is lengthy and we will continue it in next week’s issue of the Tumbleweed. We think you will find it shocking to say the least. Senators Kyl, McCain and Congressman Kolbe do not want you to know the brutal truth. We do.

Editor.

In September the [Miami Police Department] had arrested a Honduran visa violator for seven vicious rapes. The previous year, Miami cops had had the suspect in custody...without checking his immigration status.

Had they done so, they would have discovered his visa overstay, a deportable offense, and so could have forestalled the rapes. "We have shied away from unnecessary involvement dealing with immigration issues," explains Moss, choosing his words carefully, "because of our large immigrant population."

Police commanders may not want to discuss, much less respond to, the illegal-alien crisis, but its magnitude for law enforcement is startling. Some examples:

In Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide (which total 1,200 to 1,500) target illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens.

A confidential California Department of Justice study reported in 1995 that 60 percent of the 20,000-strong 18th Street Gang in southern California is illegal; police officers say the proportion is actually much greater. The bloody gang collaborates with the Mexican Mafia, the dominant force in California prisons, on complex drug-distribution schemes, extortion, and drive-by assassinations, and commits an assault or robbery every day in L.A. County. The gang has grown dramatically over the last two decades by recruiting recently arrived youngsters, most of them illegal, from Central America and Mexico.

The leadership of the Columbia Lil' Cycos gang, which uses murder and racketeering to control the drug market around L.A.'s MacArthur Park, was about 60 percent illegal in 2002, says former assistant U.S. attorney Luis Li. Francisco Martinez, a Mexican Mafia member and an illegal alien, controlled the gang from prison, while serving time for felonious reentry following deportation.

Good luck finding any reference to such facts in official crime analysis. The LAPD and the L.A. city attorney recently requested an injunction against drug trafficking in Hollywood, targeting the 18th Street Gang and the "non-gang members" who sell drugs in Hollywood for the gang. Those non-gang members are virtually all illegal Mexicans, smuggled into the country by a ring organized by 18th Street bigs. The Mexicans pay off their transportation debts to the gang by selling drugs; many soon realize how lucrative that line of work is and stay in the business.

Cops and prosecutors universally know the immigration status of these non-gang "Hollywood dealers," as the city attorney calls them, but the gang injunction is assiduously silent on the matter. And if a Hollywood officer were to arrest an illegal dealer (known on the street as a "border brother") for his immigration status, or even notify the Immigration and Naturalization Service (since early 2003, absorbed into the new Department of Homeland Security), he would face severe discipline for violating Special Order 40, the city's sanctuary policy.

The ordinarily tough-as-nails former LAPD chief Daryl Gates enacted Special Order 40 in 1979--showing that even the most unapologetic law-and-order cop is no match for immigration advocates. The order prohibits officers from "initiating police action where the objective is to discover the alien status of a person"--in other words, the police may not even ask someone they have arrested about his immigration status until after they have filed criminal charges, nor may they arrest someone for immigration violations. They may not notify immigration authorities about an illegal alien picked up for minor violations. Only if they have already booked an illegal alien for a felony or for multiple misdemeanors may they inquire into his status or report him. The bottom line: a cordon sanitaire between local law enforcement and immigration authorities that creates a safe haven for illegal criminals.

L.A.'s sanctuary law and all others like it contradict a key 1990s policing discovery: the Great Chain of Being in criminal behavior. Pick up a law-violator for a "minor" crime, and you might well prevent a major crime: enforcing graffiti and turnstile-jumping laws nabs you murderers and robbers. Enforcing known immigration violations, such as reentry following deportation, against known felons, would be even more productive. LAPD officers recognize illegal deported gang members all the time--flashing gang signs at court hearings for rival gangbangers, hanging out on the corner, or casing a target. These illegal returnees are, simply by being in the country after deportation, committing a felony (in contrast to garden-variety illegals on their first trip to the U.S., say, who are only committing a misdemeanor).

BE ON THE LOOKOUT!

Apparently, a week ago a crop duster plane was stolen in Mexico and the public is only now (11/05) being informed and asked to be on the lookout. While the stolen crop duster may or may not have anything to do with terrorists seeking to harm Americans, the potential is extremely serious and we have to ask once again why it takes the Department of Homeland Security so long to inform the public, or to ask for the public’s help. If you see this aircraft, on either side of the border, notify the TSA General Aviation Hotline at (866) 427-3287 immediately. Model: Piper PA 25 Pawnee crop-dusterTail Number: XBCYP
